Island Flower Growers is a producer-owned co-operative of cut-flower growers on Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands of British Columbia, Canada.

We help build the strength and vitality of Vancouver Island's local flower community by:

  • Operating a weekly, online wholesale market, which makes high quality, specialty blooms and foliage more accessible to our discerning clients

  • Helping local growers build successful and rewarding businesses around their exceptional product

  • Advocating for flower farming's significant role in stewarding our region's environmental and community wellbeing

Land Acknowledgement: Island Flower Growers Co-operative acknowledges, with respect and gratitude, that our members live and grow in a place that is and was a richly connected area of many Coast Salish Nations, particularly the Lekwungen (Songhees), Xwsepsum (Esquimalt), Scia’new (Beecher Bay), Malahat, Pauquachin, Snaw-Naw-As, Tseycum, Tsawout, Tsartlip and T’Sou-ke First Nations. Many of our members grow in territory covered by the Douglas Treaties, and modern treaty negotiations—such as those of the Te’mexw Treaty Association—remind us of our active, present responsibilities in pursuing truth and reconciliation on these lands.

Our Values

Quality: Our experienced growers specialize in producing hard-to-find, on-trend blooms at a professional level. This special product—alongside an abundance of everyone’s beloved favourites—must meet our rigorous standards before it is delivered to your door.

Local & Fresh: Because we grow in the same region as our clients, we strive to make the field-to-table journey short so that our beautiful blooms can be enjoyed for as long as possible.

Seasonal: We take advantage of one of the most beautiful climates in North America to grow gorgeous varieties in their appropriate season.

Future-focused: We think about what we can do to leave the land we grow on in good condition for future generations. For us, that means avoiding chemical fertilizers or sprays, synthetic pesticides and herbicides, and choosing growing practices (such as certified organic, non-certified organic, beyond organic, no-till) that we research and believe in.

Board of Directors & Members

The Growers

Our Board Directors and Members are committed, professional growers who have each amassed years of experience in the floral industry. Florists, designers, event planners and other industry professionals can access our exceptional product through our wholesale market.

Many of us also offer direct-to-consumer opportunities, including "a la carte" and full-service wedding and event design. Check the Producer Directory below for details, and to contact the growers directly.

Read our profiles to learn more about our flower-farming journeys and growing practices, and the challenges we face as small-scale producers.
